Again
Got to see Madras Boat Club on Saturday, thanks to Kribs organising yet another Bloggers meet.

Apart from the regulars - Kribs himself, Nirenjan, CC, Harish, Chenthil, Vijay & myself, this time there were so many new faces. Its nice to see so many people into blogging. I got to meet 2 journos - Liffy & Samanth, then Somu, Ram Vishwanathan, Prabu Karthik, Vijay & Hari, Archana, Vaibhav, Prabu Karthik, Krithik, Shyam & Sathish. Good of Enfield to sponsor this meet...had a good time. (Burp!)

On my way out, the heavens opened up with a vengeance, it seemed. Initially I sought shelter but seeing no signs of the rains abating, decided to just get the hell home. I never received such a lashing by rain before. Even squinting my eyes to the bare minimum was painful. Still, it was a heaven guided decision. The pouring, blinding rain turned the streets into water logged pools; at some places, upto knee level. Had I waited longer, I would have had to swim home!! My Kinetic spluttered once or twice but never gave up. Never been so happy - and relieved - to reach home in one piece. Time to follow the dictum - leave home / office early; reach office / home safely!!! Ya!

Ferrari called up y'day to remind me about the pic in the Hindu featuring our very own MSA. Again. So, in his honor - Ferrari's, that is - here's one more ditty. Seemed too good to let it go.

As one can see, Mani is at it again
surely, he hasn't heard of the word 'to refrain'
perhaps, he's keen to prove he's no fuddy duddy
and so, goes to great lengths to be everbody's 'bosom' buddy
methinks all this requires chutzpah & nerves of steel
should anybody write funny, will he bring them to kneel?

Aaccck! Ravi doing the *disappearing* act. See ya, guys!

Yo Expressy,
M.A.M might have followers coz of her spirituality and feminine mystique! But MSA, I doubt!

Sangeetha,
Lets not venture into that minefield! Perhaps he's just a good guy, very effusive in his greetings! Maybe he's a bad politician coz which politician would do all that, unless he's a donee? Get that?

Mata Amritananda Mayi is famous for her method of transmitting spiritual blessings to followers by means of hugs, hence she is known as "hugging guru. I blame Mata Amritananda for spreading the hug epidemic! I think MSA is totally inspired by her ;)

Hi Nagila. Err, I don't think we've seen the last of MSA's antics..more to come! I'd like to see what he'd do if a woman diplomat comes calling! Heaven help her! :)

Hard a good time, burp ??? I could just grab a bottle of pepsi and a glass of lemonade ! Nothing more. What more can I expect if am late !!!

And yeah, the vengence of the raingod was on me too !! Was stading in downpour for 15 mins to catch a rick !!!

As with hugging, I see no issues with it. But Mani seems to be doin it with just about everyone.

Nice one, Ravi :) Damn, I used to be a big fan of Mani Shankar Aiyar for his writing, but I dunno, he probably shouldnt be allowed to do press shoots. Has he actually LINKED his arms around the other guy's waist???? The man is embarrassing, I tell ya...

HAHAHAHA someone needs to tell this guy that it is not on to be overtly friendly! Hilarious photographs

Thousands of miles apart and similar experience with the rain, eh :)

LOL....Thanks for the laughs Rav :) That is very funny indeed.
I think we'd all be a lot happier if he reverted to a strict handshake!

Hi Ravi,

I too felt the same. Seems quite beyond the barriers of protocol and dignity for a Cabinet Minister to hug somebody in a much more than friendly manner in public.
